The gathering at Stanford Hall for British Mini Club MINIFEST was held on a nice sunny September day.
The 59 Register was represented by 4 cars.
Malcolm Spiers Standard Austin Se7en.
A 59 bare shell under restoration on one of the trade stands. Seen in the picture behind the Ex Downton White Cooper S.
David Rippard, who had brought his newly finished magnificently presented Clipper Blue Morris.
Ian Matthews brought his newly finished Magnificent Cherry Red Morris.
These two last cars were a credit to their owners and looked superb.
I had decided to drive the MG up to Stanford Hall as I was accompanied by a friend and the Morris would not have been so quick as the MG and the trip would have been fairly long in mileage for 432 for one day.
A good day was had by all, the event was very well attended. Bill Bell and Trevor Ripley were in attendance too and we had a good chat, Bill showing photos of the progress of his Danish car restoration .

MINIWORLD invited Jerry Pennell to attend the 2017 Mini In the Park at Santa Pod with his Morris Mini Minor 432 WMH to make up their stand of Feature Cars from previous editions of MINIWORLD.
This was the only 59 to be seen at MITP.
The event was held on a very nice sunny day in August and very busy.
The cars on show attracted a lot of attention with 432 being posted on the 59 Register Facebook page by one of the contributors to Facebook>

The 1959 Register was invited by The Mini Traveller and Countryman Register to share their stand at the Mini and Metro Day held at the British Motor Museum Gaydon in July.
The register was represented by 3 cars.
Paul Kimpton and his Irish Car Clipper Blue Morris. Trevor Ripley with his Portugese Tartan Red Car. Jerry Pennell and his Clipper Blue Morris.
The day passed well with plenty of Minis and Metro's on show over the whole of the demonstration areas, the The Mini Traveller and Countryman stand having about a dozen cars on show too.
The weather stayed generally dry with just a short sharp shower just as the show was packing up but did not last long as I travelled south back home.

Morning.
A few pix of the 59's at Castle Combe yesterday. For early autumn the weather was perfect, dry, a bit of sun and not too much wind. We had a perfect position for the stand right by the main buildings and pits, and near the Strawford Centre so we had a lot of interest in all the cars on the stand.
Karen and Jim from MINIWORLD parked with us also with their reshelled car "SHELDON"
Interesting to think these 5 are within a 15 miles radius of Chippenham, wonder how many more are out there in the area
Could do with a few more white cars though.
Owners are:
John and Liz Stratton
Bill Fairney
David Sparks
Jerry Pennell

Very good day at Himley Hall, weather was beautiful which brought a good attendance with it.
We had eight 1959 Minis on the stand.
Many thanks to the following for coming along with their cars:-
Stuart Keeping
Jerry Pennell
Paul Kimpton
Malcolm Speirs,
Simon Marriott
Trevor Ripley
Tony Billingham
Bill Bell kept with the 1959 theme and brought his 1959 Prototype Mini Moke which attracted a lot of attention.
Ian and Helen Almond from the Mini Traveller and Countryman Register joined us too with their delightful automatic woody.
It was a good event with plenty of interesting Minis to see and a few bargains bought from the autojumblers.
The warm sunny weather all day was a real bonus.

A last minutes decision was made by Jerry Pennell to attend the Bingley show and fly the flag on his own for the 1959 Mini Register. Many thanks Jerry.
In Jerrys words.
"It was a very last minute arrangement when I spoke with Dave Hollis only a couple of days before the event, he offered me a place for my 1959 Mini near the British Mini Club stand.
As it turned out, I went up on the Saturday afternoon with the car on my trailer and they let me have a prime spot right by the public entrance. I stayed with friends overnight near Stafford which made it a less tiring trip overall.
Mine was the only 1959 Mini there being so it attracted a lot of attention, especially as it was right by the entrance so all the public had to pass by the car to get in."
