No MOT for our 1959 Minis

As from the 18th November 2012 it will not be necessary to MOT pre 1960 cars.

Variations – Door Furniture

Up to body number 2011 (middle of September 1959) the bonnet prop was longer.  It fixed in to the far corner of the bonnet as above. Later style shorter bonnet prop holder on bonnet.

The early long prop bonnets had pop riveted on strengthening brackets as per left hand bonnet next to a normal type bonnet without the strengthener. A close up of the strengthening bracket.

Long bonnet prop locator on inner wing is lower and vertical. Post chassis 2011 body the shorter bonnet prop was secured in this style lower horizontal type bracket.
