No MOT for our 1959 Minis

As from the 18th November 2012 it will not be necessary to MOT pre 1960 cars.

The addition of a riveted drain to deflect the water away from & protect the door lock mechanism. The top door shows the door channel on later doors, circled in red you can just see the rubber tube in the frame to let out the water through the bottom of the door. The lower red 59 type door shows where water was lead through into the channel and then through the door ends circled in red.

Mid 1960 door showing the lock protector still riveted in place but the drain hole is now through the conventional rubber hose through the bottom of the door.  The defector would later be incorporated in to the door moulding rather than riveted on separately. Later Mk1 style door showing the water deflector plate as part of the door pressing.
