No MOT for our 1959 Minis

As from the 18th November 2012 it will not be necessary to MOT pre 1960 cars.

Twin Cylinder Engine

A twin cylinder two stroke engine was developed from a chopped in half "A" seires Austin A35 engine.
This was tried out in an A35 car in hope it would be used in the Mini eventually, possibly as a space saving initiative.
Needless to say it didn't go into production.

Strange Link

Although these two photographs appear in the "Publicity Material" gallery, we thought it worth mentioning the link between the two shots.

Note even though the photographs are in black and white, it is obvious that they are different cars, a lighter colour and a darker colour. They have the same registration number on the number plate, how odd! Obviously press cars, but was BMC trying to save on road tax?
